Azerbaijani Man Approached, Talked to Workers, Drew a Pistol and Opened Fire; He Was Not a Regular Soldier

Infoteka 24 reports that exclusive details have emerged regarding a brutal attack on civilians near Shushi. A work team was located somewhere between two entrances to Shushi. During their work, a tall man approached them, who was not in the regular Azerbaijani military uniform but in a different military attire. He stood before them and began 'buzzing,' without speaking either Russian or Azerbaijani.

The workers attempted to explain that they were digging trenches for water pipes, but the assailant simply continued to make aggressive noises, lowered his automatic rifle, drew a pistol, and opened fire. One person was killed on the spot while the others tried to hide. The assailant fired at them from behind.

The excavator driver was injured in the chest area; however, as he was in the process of descending from the vehicle at that moment, the assailant seemingly could not shoot accurately, and the man's injury was not fatal.

The publication notes that those typically armed with pistols are either security service employees or officers. The description of the assailant's uniform suggests that he was an employee of Aliyev's security service, which implies that he was simply following orders.
