After November 9, Armenia Has Suffered Many Injuries and Deaths, Says Nikol Pashinyan

We must admit that we have effectively failed the task of building the army in the sense that the army should correspond to the challenges that exist around the Republic of Armenia. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a broadcast on Public TV.

"All of this has also been expressed in specific areas, specific positions, specific phenomena, and manifestations. For example, I would like to mention the work being done with the reserve forces. For many years, reserve mobilizations have not taken place properly and at the appropriate level in Armenia," he said.

Pashinyan stated that Armenia highly appreciates the activities of the Russian peacekeepers stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh. "They are currently one of the key actors in ensuring security in Nagorno-Karabakh, and this should be noted," he said, continuing that the ceasefire regime is not being fully maintained, which has also been recorded by the peacekeepers.

He noted that since November 9, Armenia has suffered many injuries and deaths: "We have had about 28 fatalities, particularly from the incident in the Khzraberd-Dzovadzor section, as well as incidents along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border resulting in fatalities, and this is certainly a very concerning fact. I must also say that we have had incidents of military operations as well."

According to Pashinyan, the majority of the confirmed 40 prisoners of war—90 percent—were captured after the declaration of November 9 and have not yet been released. He mentioned that Azerbaijan has adopted a path to discredit the activities of the Russian peacekeepers.
