Will School Breaks Be Extended? The Ministry of Education's Spokesperson Responds

Currently, there is no new decision regarding the extension of school breaks in the Republic due to the pandemic. According to Armenpress, Gegham Melikbekyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, stated that they are currently guided by the existing decision.

“We are following the decision related to the breaks. If there are any changes, we will inform you,” said Melikbekyan.

According to a message distributed by the Ministry of Education on October 25, autumn breaks for students in grades 1-12 have been extended for another week, until November 7, 2021, inclusive. In the absence of a new decision to extend the breaks, classes will resume on November 8.

Regarding higher education and postgraduate professional institutions, it was suggested that to control the epidemic situation and curb the spread of the disease, the educational process should be conducted through online learning from October 26 to November 15, 2021.
