I Am Refusing the Mandate: Arushanyan Releases New Statement from Prison

Arush Arushanyan has made the decision to resign from his mandate. He has released a statement from prison, stating:

"Dear compatriots, being included in the electoral list of the 'Armenia' alliance, today I have submitted a request to resign from my mandate. I have made this decision for the simple reason that I do not see myself in the legislature, but I want to be by your side, to continue beautifying our beloved Goris community together with you. I want to live and create in my native city, investing all my potential for the sake of our community's prosperity and the well-being of my beloved Gorisians.

At this stage, my main mission is to ensure the continuous development and progress of our beloved Goris community. I want to assure you that in the coming years, I will work with greater diligence and enthusiasm so that each one of you who has given your vote of confidence to our alliance can see that our cause is just, that our goals are noble and far-reaching.

I have been and will always remain beside my people. At the same time, I want to inform you that I continue to support the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, as I trust him with the protection of our homeland and the rapid development of our country. God protect us all."
