Judicial Department Officials Have Entered into an Agreement with the State Oversight Service and Law Enforcement Agencies
The newspaper 'Zhoghavorud' reports that in July 2021, the State Oversight Service of the Republic of Armenia discovered that from 2016 to 2018, under the orders of the head of the Judicial Department, 9 employees were allegedly sent on business trips to various regions of Armenia. They submitted documents confirming their accommodation expenses from various economic entities, receiving a total of 41,934,000 AMD.
It was also revealed that in several cases, the respective employees were present at their workplace during the days of the alleged business trips and submitted documents from service providers that, according to the data from the State Revenue Committee, did not provide the corresponding services. As a result, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case based on Article 178, Part 3, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
According to information received by 'Zhoghavorud', this criminal case is expected to be closed because officials from the Judicial Department have entered into an agreement with the State Oversight Service and law enforcement officers, agreeing to return the embezzled funds in exchange for immunity from punishment. Allegedly, there is consensus among all parties, and the criminal case will be terminated.
