Investigators Provide New Details on Fatal Car Accident Involving 25-Year-Old Woman and Her 2-Year-Old Son

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal case under Article 242, Part 3 of the Criminal Code in connection with a car accident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The accident occurred on November 3, 2021, at 19:15 on the 44th km of the Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir highway.

According to preliminary information, a resident of Aparan city crashed the 'Mercedes' vehicle he was driving into the trailer of a 'Yumz' tractor loaded with a 'DT' caterpillar tractor. As a result of the collision, the 25-year-old female passenger and her child, born on November 16, 2019, died from their injuries while being transported to the hospital.

The Investigative Committee has conducted the necessary investigative and procedural actions, including a scene examination, sampling, and has appointed forensic and toxicological expert examinations of the bodies. The pre-investigation is ongoing.
