Doctors Dismissed for Conducting Anti-Vaccination Campaigns, Says Minister

“A small number of doctors who are conducting anti-vaccination campaigns are very active. They are busy with harmful actions day and night,” said Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan after a government meeting while responding to reporters' questions regarding certain doctors who oppose COVID-19 vaccines and engage in anti-vaccination campaigns.

Avanesyan noted that monitoring is being conducted to understand whether these doctors have the right to hold positions that contradict public discourse. “The licensing institution for doctors should be the tool preventing physicians from engaging in anti-scientific, anti-vaccination actions. We have serious plans and are preparing for large-scale discussions and preparatory work to establish this institution in the future. A doctor cannot maintain their license if they are involved in such activities,” she emphasized.

The minister also announced that specific medical centers have dismissed certain doctors for displaying such behaviors.
