Anahit Avanesyan on News of Resigning from Her Position
I have no intention of resigning from my position. Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan addressed reporters after a government meeting, responding to media reports about plans to replace her. Avanesyan stated that rumors about resignations concerning all ministers are continuously circulating and she has no intention of stepping down, emphasizing that she will continue in her role as long as she is entrusted with it.
“The Ministry of Health and medical centers are doing tremendous work,” she noted. The minister referenced the regular postings by Aren Torosyan about healthcare activities taking place in the regions, to which Avanesyan is not present. According to Avanesyan, Torosyan, as a member of parliament, is actively reporting on the large-scale capital construction projects being undertaken in 2021. Currently, six medical centers are in the active construction phase, and the Ministry of Health will continue its work.
“Next year we will include important considerations to improve the conditions of polyclinic buildings. While being heavily occupied with the fight against COVID-19 and promoting the vaccination process, Mr. Torosyan is supplementing reporting in that area,” she added. The minister concluded by stating that the high regard for Torosyan remains consistent.
