What Weather to Expect in November

The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia’s Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center has presented the climatic characteristics and weather forecast for the month of November.

The first decade of November is expected to be relatively warm, with a decade average temperature of 4°C. However, the average temperature in the third decade is projected to be negative at -0.5°C, with temperatures dropping below 0°C in certain mountainous regions at the end of the second decade.

There will be a significant increase in foggy days in November, especially in the passes, reaching up to 25 days. Fog is most commonly observed in the morning hours.

In the provinces of Ararat and Armavir, as well as in the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, the average monthly temperature is expected to be +7 to +8°C, which is 1-2 degrees above the long-term average. On some days, daytime temperatures may rise to +18 to +20°C, while in the third decade, a temperature decrease is anticipated at night, dropping to -3 to -5°C.

Precipitation levels for the month are expected to be close to the norm.

In the provinces of Shirak and Gegharkunik, as well as in the mountainous regions of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, the average monthly temperature is expected to be +2 to +4°C, which is also 1-2 degrees above the long-term average. On certain days, daytime highs could reach +13 to +16°C, with nighttime lows in the third decade possibly dropping to -10 to -15°C.

In Lori Province, the average monthly temperature is expected to be +5 to +7°C, which is 1-2 degrees higher than usual. Daytime highs may reach up to +17 to +20°C on some days, while significant decreases in temperature are expected in the third decade, with nighttime temperatures dropping to -10 to -15°C.

In Tavush Province, average monthly temperatures are projected to range from +6 to +9°C, again 1-2 degrees above the multi-year average. Daytime temperatures may reach +18 to +22°C on selected days, with a forecasted nighttime drop to -2 to -5°C towards the end of the month.

In Vayots Dzor Province, average temperatures in the foothill areas are expected to be +7 to +9°C, while in mountainous regions, temperatures are expected to be +2 to +4°C, which is 1-2 degrees above the long-term average. On some days, the daytime temperature in the foothills may rise to as high as +18 to +21°C, while in the mountains, it will be +12 to +16°C. A decrease in temperatures is expected during the third decade, with nighttime lows in the foothills dropping to -3 to -6°C and in mountainous areas to -10 to -15°C.

In Syunik Province, the average monthly temperature is expected to be +8 to +10°C in the valleys and +4 to +6°C in the foothills, 1-2 degrees above the multi-year average. Some days may see temperatures in the valleys rise to +20 to +25°C, and in the foothills to +16 to +20°C. In the third decade, decreases at night are expected to reach 0 to -3°C in the valleys and -8 to -13°C in the foothills.

In Yerevan, the average monthly temperature is expected to be +7 to +8°C, which is 1-2 degrees above the long-term average. There may be days when temperatures rise to +18 to +20°C during the day, but a decrease in temperature is expected in the third decade, with nighttime lows dropping to -3 to -5°C. Monthly precipitation levels are expected to be close to the norm.
