The Loss in Meghri Was Unexpected for the CPP, They Have Contacted the Prosecutor's Office: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' reports: 'Ararat Tumanyan, the interim head of the Meghri community and a candidate from the Civil Contract party, who is also a karate coach, informed us yesterday that the party will submit a complaint to the Prosecutor General regarding the elections held on October 17, as he claims that an electoral carousel was in operation in the enlarged community.
'It was very unexpected for me that I did not win. The carousel is known to you. It was registered at the aesthetic building of Meghri city, where one of the polling stations was located; our authorized representative raised the issue, but the commission chairman was probably not our supporter and did not record it. We will also address the prosecutor's office. By the way, this is not the only case; an electoral carousel was also registered in Leghat, the birthplace of Bagrat Zakaryan,' said Tumanyan.
Recall that according to the election results, the CPP took second place, securing 5 out of 15 city council mandates, while 6 mandates were received by Aram Sargsyan's 'Republic' party, represented by Bagrat Zakaryan. Ruben Vardanyan's 'Living Land' and Samvel Babayan's 'Freedom' each received 2 mandates. The CPP is currently negotiating with the latter two to gain control of the city council, while they will likely attempt to pressure the candidate who received the most votes through criminal proceedings.'
