Relatives of Missing and Fallen Soldiers End Protest Action
The protest by the relatives of missing and fallen soldiers near the government has ended. They are set to meet with the Prime Minister at the end of the week.
Garik Mkrtchyan, the father of a fallen soldier, told reporters that during their meeting with the police chief, the relatives had requested support and to organize a meeting with the Prime Minister. The meeting took place, and they reached an agreement to arrange a meeting with the relatives of soldiers and the Prime Minister on Saturday.
Mkrtchyan noted that they are preparing a list of questions and will also present digital data about who will attend the meeting. The request is not to exceed 8-10 people, and a more effective meeting could involve 6 parents.
“Our demand and request is to keep it limited so that we can listen to each other, because experience has shown that the more parents are present, the more each one wants to hear their individual responses, while we want to hear responses about general matters,” he stated.
The parents are preparing to learn what new information has emerged from the investigative activities, as well as the results related to DNA tests. They will also raise questions about captives and try to understand whether actions are being taken to clarify which soldiers are remaining on the list of presumed captives, and which ones are on the confirmed list of captives.
Mkrtchyan expressed hope that the arrangements made for Saturday's meeting would not change. He declared that they do not see any sense in remaining near the government building. The parents will meet to edit the agenda items. They will exchange information regarding the time and number of attendees with the Prime Minister's assistant.
“We are demanders; we have the right to voice our requests so that the relevant authorities respond and give momentum to the processes,” concluded Mkrtchyan.
