Who Can Go Maskless in Open Areas
According to the changes made in the order N 23-N of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia on September 11, 2020, in order to reduce the risk of the spread of coronavirus disease, wearing a mask will be mandatory starting from November 1 when in public open areas outside residential areas.
Exemptions from wearing masks include the following groups:
- Individuals aged 0-5 years old included;
- Speakers and participants directly involved in official events led by the President of the Republic of Armenia, the Catholicos of All Armenians, the Prime Minister, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council (excluding journalists and service staff);
- Individuals with chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema or bronchitis, and individuals with severe respiratory failure, or chronic heart failure of functional classes 3 or 4, provided they have medical documentation confirming their condition;
- Participating in specific designated areas for outdoor recreation, resort areas, beaches, mountains, forests, and similar outdoor spaces, but not in parks, city gardens, botanical and zoological gardens, visits to historical and cultural sites, pilgrimage, and organized individual and group expeditions, excursions, hikes, trips, and similar activities;
- Television presenters being alone in the studio while broadcasting television programs;
- Performing sign language interpretation during broadcasts;
- People with hearing impairments (those who are deaf and rely on lip-reading);
- Individuals with mental disorders and behavioral disturbances;
- Cognitive disorders;
- Facial injuries or oral and maxillofacial interventions;
- Activities such as smoking, drinking, and eating.
