VIDEO: Kalashnikov Rifles, Pistols Handed Over Voluntarily
Efforts by police officers from regional departments continue to encourage the voluntary surrender of illegal weapons and ammunition. Thanks to the explanatory work conducted by officers from the Malatya and Arabkir departments of Yerevan, instances of the voluntary surrender of a homemade rifle and ammunition were recorded in the Malatya division and a rifle along with ammunition in the Arabkir division.
A case of the voluntary surrender of a factory-numbered Kalashnikov rifle was recorded at the Tavush division of the police due to the explanatory work of the department's officers. Instances of voluntary surrender of illegal weapons and ammunition have also been reported in the Artashat, Ararat, and Masis divisions. Specifically, in Artashat, a Kalashnikov rifle, grenade launcher, grenades, and ammunition were surrendered; in Ararat, a Kalashnikov rifle and ammunition; and in Masis, a rifle and ammunition.
The explanatory work conducted by officers of the Gavar and Vardenis divisions was also effective in encouraging the voluntary surrender of Kalashnikov rifles and ammunition. Thanks to the efforts of officers from the Armavir division, another instance of the voluntary surrender of a Kalashnikov rifle and ammunition was recorded.
Additionally, within the Nork Marash division of the police in Nairi, a case of the voluntary surrender of a Kalashnikov rifle and ammunition was recorded due to the work of community police officers.
The police divisions in Kapan, Goris, and Meghri also conducted effective explanatory work, resulting in the recording of voluntary surrenders of a Kalashnikov rifle in Kapan, a revolver and ammunition in Goris, and a Makarov pistol and ammunition in Meghri. In the Vayk division of the police, there was also a case of voluntary surrender of a grenade and cartridges.
Expert examinations have been appointed. We urge individuals to voluntarily surrender illegal weapons and ammunition to the police to avoid criminal liability.
