Video: Shots Fired on Abovyan Street, One Fatality

The police report that on September 24, around 2:30 AM, the operational management center received information that a citizen was injured by gunfire near one of the cafes on Abovyan Street.

Minutes later, calls about the same incident were also received from the "1st University" hospital, where two young men, aged 23 and 24, were admitted with gunshot wounds to various parts of their bodies. One of the victims was a resident of Ejmiatsin, while the other was from Arinj village.

Some members of the operational group went to Abovyan Street, while others headed to the medical center. The criminal investigation department's officers joined the investigative efforts.

At the scene, blood-like traces, clothes in a polyethylene bag, cartridges, and bullets were found.

As a result of extensive operational-investigative measures, it was revealed that a group of young men had argued with the victims in one of the cafes on Abovyan Street, which escalated outside, and one of the participants in the dispute, a 24-year-old man residing on Gyulikevkhyan Street, fired a gun at the victims.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. On the evening of September 26, a new report was received from the "1st University" hospital; around 9:30 PM, one of the injured individuals had died in the hospital.

On October 9, a search was announced for the 24-year-old resident of Gyulikevkhyan Street. Thanks to extensive operational measures by the criminal detectives of the Central Police Department, the individual accused of a particularly serious crime was located and apprehended on October 21. He has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
