Eight Cases of Soil Fertile Layer Removal and Transfer Discovered

The staff of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body have carried out extensive monitoring efforts for a week to ensure compliance with environmental legislation regarding the purposeful and effective use and transfer of the fertile soil layer.

During patrols, eight cases of soil fertile layer removal and transfer were discovered in Kotayk, Gegharkunik, and Aragatsotn regions of Armenia. Approximately 71 cubic meters of black soil were illegally transferred using various brands of trucks, violating the established rules for the removal and transfer of the top layer of the soil cover.

All trucks loaded with black soil have been moved to the police impound lot. Administrative fines have been imposed regarding the discovered cases, and several materials have been sent to law enforcement agencies.
