Murder in Yerevan: Husband Strangles Wife and Then Inflicts Self-Harm

Today, October 31, a murder occurred in Yerevan. Around 1:50 PM, the police received a report that there was a woman's body in one of the houses on Suvorov Street, and another person was injured. Police officers and investigators discovered the woman's body on the floor of the kitchen in the specified house.

Currently, senior investigators Yura Papyan and Mkrtich Umrshatyan, who specialize in particularly important cases, are conducting an examination at the scene. A criminal case has been initiated by the Erebuni Investigative Department under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and an investigative group has been established.

Several citizens gathered at the scene, who declined to speak on camera, stated: “When the patrol officers took that man away, he was the husband of the house. He killed her by strangling, and then inflicted self-harm. If the police and investigators had not arrived quickly, he could have bled out and died himself. But what was the reason for this incident remains a mystery to us.”

By the investigator's decision, a number of examinations have been appointed, including a forensic examination of the body. According to G. Shamshyan, the deceased was 46-year-old Lusine K., a resident of the same address, while the individual transported to the hospital by patrol officers is her husband, 51-year-old Arthur K.
