Extraordinary Incident in Yerevan: A Truck with Persian Plates Damaged Gas Pipeline's Iron Supports
On October 29, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call at its 911 crisis management center reporting that a truck with Persian plates had collided with gas pipelines on 3rd Alley of Arin Berd Street in the Erebuni administrative district.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a fire-rescue unit from the Yerevan fire and rescue squad No. 3 arrived promptly at the scene. Officers of the Yerevan battalion’s second company of the Police Patrol Service also arrived swiftly, led by company commander Levon Badalyan and deputy commander David Nikoghosyan.
It was established that under still unknown circumstances, Iranian citizen Mehtiv Kyalthord, driving a Volvo truck, collided with a gas pipe running across the road, causing damage. Two iron supports of the gas pipeline were broken, and the pipe ended up wedged between the trailer.
According to preliminary information, fortunately, there were no casualties resulting from the accident.
