Turkey Has Set Conditions for Investments in Exchange for Shushi, Karvachar, and the Araks Valley
“Since 2018, it was already clear that there would be a war, and we were supposed to lose that war,” stated journalist and commentator Nairi Hovhikyan during a conference titled “Lost Victory: Betrayal or Ignorance?”
“In the spring of 2021, I received clear information that in January 2019, certain representatives from Armenia met with representatives of Erdoğan, where Turkey set a condition to invest $5 billion in the Armenian economy in exchange for the return of Shushi, Karvachar, and the Araks valley, and the borders would be opened. You see that the process of opening borders is gradually progressing, and there are talks about positive signals, and so on,” Hovhikyan added.
