Everything Was Written in the Document Signed on the 9th: Movses Hakobyan Speaks to the Media

The former Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan arrived in Goris on December 17 and demanded that the armed forces withdraw from Goris and Meghri, leaving the positions in Kovsakan (Zangelan) and Sanasar (Kubatlou) to Azerbaijan, reports "Hraparak." The former Chief of the General Staff, Movses Hakobyan, who resigned 10 days after the signing of the document on November 9, was asked several questions by the media.

- Was it predetermined by the November 9 document that our forces would leave these territories?
- Yes. Everything was written in the document signed on the 9th. I do not understand why people do not grasp this and are exploiting it today. When I read that document at the time, it was clear to me that we would be leaving those positions. It is very clearly stated there that the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia will only be stationed at the state border of the Republic of Armenia. The Republic of Armenia will not have armed forces in any other place.

- Is this not about the positions in Meghri and Goris, but rather on the border of the Republic of Armenia?
- Should I speak in my dialect or in Nikol's? In my dialect, Kovsakan and Sanasar are Artsakh; in Nikol's dialect, Artsakh is Azerbaijan.
