Over 1 Million Dollars Compensation to Relatives of Kobe Bryant and Other Victims Following Helicopter Crash
The families of those killed in the helicopter crash that occurred while transporting NBA five-time champion Kobe Bryant and his daughter will receive $1.25 million for the illegal release of photos taken at the crash site, according to CNN.
The Los Angeles County authorities managed to reach an agreement with the Altobelli and Mauser families after sheriff and firefighter personnel at the scene published photos depicting the aftermath of the crash.
“We believe that the proposed settlement amount of $1.25 million is reasonable and fair to all parties involved,” said County Attorney Skip Miller.
Bryant died in a helicopter accident on the morning of January 26, 2020, in California. Onboard the helicopter, in addition to the basketball player, was his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, the pilot, and six other passengers. All of them perished.
