NATO-Compliant Assault Rifles to Be Produced in Georgia
NATO-compliant automatic weapons production is set to begin in Georgia, as reported by "Aliq Media." The GI-4 assault rifles will be manufactured at the Georgian-Israeli Delta CAA factory, which was inaugurated at the Delta base. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze were present at the opening on October 28.
“This is another achievement, a promise I made about a year ago. We have been actively working in this direction, and you can already see the joint enterprise for firearms production. We will have American machinery of the highest level here; this is state-of-the-art technology. All parts will be produced locally, and the employees have already undergone specialized training,” said the Prime Minister.
The Ministry of Defense's statement indicates that the parties plan to expand production volumes in the near future, aiming to export it later. The GI-4 (5.56) assault rifles produced at the factory will be supplied to the Georgian armed forces to equip the units with modern weaponry.
