Roaming Fees to Disappear in EAEU: Program Approved
The Eurasian Economic Commission's council has approved a program for the implementation of fair tariffs in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. This information has been obtained from the commission's press service.
It was noted that the commission’s Collegium on Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation reviewed the telecommunications legislation of EAEU countries, examining global experiences in the elimination of roaming, including within the frameworks of regional integration associations.
“We have analyzed the prices of mobile services in roaming across EAEU countries, studied the potential risks, and evaluated the possibility of aligning roaming tariffs as closely as possible to local tariffs,” said EEC Minister Arman Shakkalieev.
The full implementation of the measures is expected to be completed by 2025.
