Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident in Aragatsotn Province

Today, October 28, a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in the Aragatsotn Province. Around 21:10, Harutyun Sargsyan, a 38-year-old resident of Aragatsotn, struck a male and female pedestrian with his VAZ 2106 vehicle on the 1st km stretch of the Maragara-Vanadzor highway, towards the village of Arai.

According to Shamshyan.com, the driver did not flee the scene and attempted to provide assistance, calling the 'Aparan' medical center. Responding doctors provided first aid on-site to the injured man before transporting him to the 'Aparan' medical center. Unfortunately, the doctors confirmed the death of the female pedestrian.

The police and investigative department are working to identify the deceased individuals. Witnesses at the scene mentioned that the victims were a couple, though not married, and without a permanent residence, often found on the streets.
