Donald Trump Does Not Rule Out Leaving the US If Billionaire Tax Is Imposed
Former US President Donald Trump has criticized a new proposal put forward by Democratic representatives to tax the income of billionaires. According to Business Insider, the new taxation plan would affect individuals earning over $100 million a year or those who have more than $1 billion in assets for three consecutive years. There are approximately 700 such individuals in the US.
The billionaire has not ruled out the possibility of leaving the country to avoid paying the new tax. According to Trump, the new tax will not benefit the country, as wealthy individuals and companies will leave the United States. "I wonder if they would allow me to run for president again if I move to another country? No, I think I will stay, but many others will not," said the former president.
