VIDEO: Historic Visit. The President of Armenia Visits Saudi Arabia for the First Time

October 26, 2021, will mark a significant chapter in the history of Armenian-Arab relations, particularly between the Republic of Armenia and Saudi Arabia.

According to the Presidential Office of Armenia, President Armen Sargsyan has made a working visit to Saudi Arabia. This unprecedented event is undeniably a turning point in Armenia's international relations.

Since Armenia's independence, there has been an absence of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Saudi Arabia, and no Armenian official had ever visited the kingdom. The Armenian president took a historic step by visiting this country, which holds a unique role and significance in the Arab and Islamic world, for the first time.

Upon arrival at the airport in the capital of Saudi Arabia, President Armen Sargsyan was welcomed at the highest state level by Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel al-Jubeir. Furthermore, in accordance with official protocol, the national flag of the Republic of Armenia was raised at the airport.
