VIDEO. Yes, we are concerned, do we have a state border in Syunik? Anna Grigoryan asks the Deputy Minister
Do we have a state border in Syunik? The question posed by Anna Grigoryan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia remained unanswered during the session of the Permanent Commission on Security and Defense Issues. Andranik Kocharyan prevented the deputy minister from responding, arguing that it was time for speeches.
“When we ask you about the border situation, instead of giving a substantive answer, you’re labeling the politician and his questions,” noted Anna Grigoryan.
The MP also expressed dissatisfaction that she has sent numerous inquiries to the Ministry of Defense regarding the border situation, yet none have received a clear response, with the Ministry stating that the issue is outside their jurisdiction.
“Regarding the Kapan-Goris road, I sent an inquiry to the Ministry of Defense to understand what security guarantees our compatriots have while traveling on that road. The Ministry of Defense says, 'We have nothing to say on that, it is outside our jurisdiction.' When I ask how it happened that our troops have retreated, they say, 'The answer is outside our jurisdiction'—so what questions can you answer? Is there a question related to our country and our citizens that we can pose and get an answer to?” stated Anna Grigoryan, who then directed a question to the Deputy Minister of Defense demanding a clear answer: “Do we currently have a state border in Syunik?” The question remained unanswered; instead, Andranik Kocharyan remarked that it was not the time for Q&A, but for speeches.
