Erdogan and Aliyev Inaugurate New Airport in Occupied Varanda

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Varanda. A government aircraft from Turkey landed at the international airport built in the territory occupied by Azerbaijan. Erdogan was welcomed on a red carpet by the President of Azerbaijan, according to Azerbaijani media.

The leaders of Turkey and Azerbaijan participated in the opening ceremony of the international airport, together cutting the red ribbon. They will also attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the 'Smart Agropark' in Zangilan, which will be constructed with Turkey's support.

Additionally, under the presence of the two leaders, the construction works of the Ahmadbayli-Horadiz-Midjanavan-Aghbend and Ahmadbayli-Varanda-Shushi roads will be launched. The international airport in Varanda, which came under Azerbaijani control as a result of the 44-day Artsakh war, was constructed in 8 months with the support of Turkey.
