Authorities Struggle to Accept Loss in Goris: "Hraparak"
According to the "Hraparak" newspaper, Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan visited the Kajaran copper-molybdenum plant with a large entourage yesterday and threatened the employees that if they do not all vote unanimously for the candidate of the ruling party in Kapan, they will be fired.
The plant employs residents from various communities of the enlarged Kapan municipality. The authorities are struggling to cope with their defeat in Goris and have concentrated their efforts to achieve a comeback in Kapan. The candidate for the ruling party is artist Davit Danielyan, a protégé of Arayik Harutyunyan, while his opponent is long-term mayor Gevorg Parsyan, who defeated the ruling party's candidate in 2018 even when the party was on the rise.
It should be noted that just days ago, 15 percent of the plant was inexplicably donated by the Geopromining company to the government’s staff.
