Why Should Ordinary Citizens in Armenia Believe That Vaccination and Mask Wearing Can Break the Horrific Chain of Infection? - Zohrabyan

In just the last week, 277 people have died from COVID-19. Former MP Naira Zohrabyan wrote this, reflecting on the official reception organized at the Presidential Residence in honor of the participants of the "Armenian Thought Summit" held on the evening of October 24, hosted by President Armen Sarkissian.

“The participants of the ‘Armenian Thought Summit’ were hosted at Armen Sarkissian's office. All of Armenia's intellectual elite, excluding Vahagn Khachaturyan, were without masks. The Minister of Health was also without a mask, despite calling for universities to switch to remote learning models because COVID is wreaking havoc. Now, why should an ordinary citizen in Armenia believe that getting vaccinated and wearing a mask can break the horrific chain of infection when I don’t know whose intellectual clusters are so ‘unapologetically’ holding their summit like this?”
