Staying in the National Assembly and Walking in the Streets Is Unclear, Except for Obtaining an Alibi: Stepan Danielyan

In Armenia, there is a lack of a Responsibility Institute both in politics and various spheres of interpersonal relations, writes political analyst Stepan Danielyan.

“The day after the elections, I urged the opposition not to hold any positions in the parliament, thereby making the legitimacy of the National Assembly vulnerable, and later, when the time comes (I mentioned signing any dangerous documents), to resign their mandates. The positions in the National Assembly were taken (the meaning of this remains unclear, except for satisfying narrow personal base instincts.), they participated in meaningless debates (again, it is unclear what the meaning is), and now they are transitioning to street protests (the purpose of that is also unclear).

For me, it is still unclear what document will be signed; this needs to be seen in order to draw conclusions, but if the worst-case scenario occurs, staying in the National Assembly while simultaneously walking in the streets is incomprehensible (except for obtaining an alibi).

PS. In Armenia, there is no Responsibility Institute in both politics and various spheres of interpersonal relations. For instance, a person should be punished for deception, false promises, and for crowning the truth, while in public and political life, a person who deceives should be subjected to public condemnation. Someone who lies once should be expelled from political and public life,” the analyst wrote on his Facebook page.
