Covid-19 Situation in Artsakh Deteriorating, Says Republic's Prime Minister

Artsakh Republic's Prime Minister Artak Beglaryan has stated on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Artsakh is increasingly deteriorating. In the last ten days, dozens of new cases have been recorded daily. Currently, more than 140 patients are receiving treatment in various medical institutions, 76 of whom are in serious condition, including 10 critical cases. Our medical workers are doing tremendous work, but the occupancy of the hospital bed fund is approaching maximum capacity.

In recent days, four more deaths have been registered, including one woman around 40 years old, with no accompanying health conditions, but with a high percentage of lung involvement. Unfortunately, each of us, especially our vulnerable relatives, could be the next victim of a death or a critical case. Therefore, I urge you to:

1. Observe safety rules everywhere to avoid infection and prevent spreading it, as well as to show public intolerance towards those who do not comply with safety regulations, as they endanger the lives and health of others (including your own).
2. Without hesitation, go and get vaccinated, as it significantly reduces the likelihood of infection and especially the chances of death and serious health complications. No matter how many different opinions you hear about vaccinations, the undeniable fact is that in societies with high vaccination rates, severe and fatal cases are significantly lower. This truth has been confirmed by my experiences and discussions with significant specialists during the past week in Russia and the USA.
3. Avoid visiting crowded places.
4. Do not succumb to scientifically unproven information and myths, as they are as dangerous to your life as the coronavirus.
