Kindergarten Fees and Museum Entrance Charges to Increase

Local fee types and rates will soon be established in Yerevan. The city hall will keep the local fee rates from 2021 unchanged, except for the fees for kindergartens under the jurisdiction of Yerevan and for museum entries.

The "Jamanak" newspaper learned that the Yerevan city hall proposes to increase the monthly fee for the kindergarten service from 25,700 drams per child to 28,000 drams. According to the city hall, this change is mainly due to the increase in food prices.

Additionally, the newspaper reported that the tariffs currently in use at museums will also rise, as they have not been changed for 13 years. This situation adversely affects the normal operation of museums in terms of generating revenue, competitiveness, and positioning community-owned museums. Furthermore, the current rate does not reflect existing inflation and the increases that have occurred over the years, adding further burdens to state and community budget expenditures. Therefore, it is possible that the ticket prices for community-owned museums will increase in the near future,” the newspaper writes.
