Canada Revokes Official Advisory Against Non-Essential Travel
Canada has officially revoked its advisory urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel abroad. According to Reuters, the decision was made following the successful vaccination rates against COVID-19 in the country.
Furthermore, Ontario, Canada’s most populous province, has released a timeline for lifting all remaining COVID-19 restrictions. The travel advisory was first issued in March 2020, amid the onset of the pandemic.
“Vaccines are very effective at preventing severe cases,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Theresa Tam during a recent press briefing. Official statistics indicate that as of October 8, a little over 82 percent of Canada’s adult population has been vaccinated against the virus.
