NSS Reveals Case Causing 816 Million Dram Damage to the State

The staff of the National Security Service (NSS) regional department in Kotayk have obtained factual data through operational and investigative measures regarding the director of a company engaged in entrepreneurial activities. The director, violating a number of legal acts concerning the use of land, mineral resources, and extraction of useful minerals, carried out illegal mining of soil and subsoil during the period from 2012 to 2019 in the territory of the Zoravan community in Kotayk province without the necessary subsoil use license and other documents.

As a result, approximately 250,000 m3 of basalt mining materials were illegally extracted. According to the NSS press center, the illegal entrepreneurial activity led to the non-payment of significantly large taxes and other mandatory payments to the state totaling 816,500,000 Armenian drams.

Based on the prepared materials, a criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department of the NSS under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
