Drivers Outraged by City Hall Decision
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that public transport drivers in Yerevan are extremely upset. The reason lies with the Yerevan City Hall. Drivers of public transport operating under the city's jurisdiction have approached the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, stating that representatives of the city hall are currently "forcing" them to sign a document under which they will be held responsible even if a passenger is not wearing a mask. This concerns administrative liability.
In cases where a passenger is not wearing a mask, the police compile a record against them, with a fine of 10,000 drams, which is the same for the drivers. It should be noted that the record against the company operating the public transport is compiled by the Health and Labor Inspectorate of Armenia. In the event of an administrative process, the consequence can range from a warning to a fine of 300,000 drams, and in case of repetition, 150,000 to 500,000 drams.
