Trial of Accomplices in the Murder of Yaponchik Begins in Moscow
The Moscow City Court has commenced hearings in the case of the murder of Yaponchik (Vyacheslav Ivankov), with Murtazi Shadanyan and Jambul Janashian facing charges. According to "Kommersant", the investigation believes that they helped organize Yaponchik's assassination.
Specifically, they initially monitored the criminal authority and assisted another accomplice, Kaha Gazaev, in transporting the Degtyarev sniper rifle, from which Astamur Butban shot Yaponchik in July 2009.
Shadanyan and Janashian deny their guilt and state that they have no connection to this high-profile murder. Kaha Gazaev has already confessed to the crime and has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.
