Crane Overturns in Vanadzor, Driver Trapped Beneath

On October 18, a tragic incident occurred in the Lori region. At around 09:20, the emergency situations ministry's 911 operational management center received a call reporting that a crane had overturned near 15 Gortsaranain Street in Vanadzor, and according to initial information, the driver was trapped underneath.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a firefighting team from the Vanadzor emergency rescue headquarters quickly arrived at the scene.

Rescuers and employees from the "Varmash" road construction company are currently attempting to upright the crane using a hoist in order to recover the body of the driver. Police representatives and the duty team of doctors from the Vanadzor hospital are also present at the site.

Officers from the road police's 5th platoon of the 2nd police battalion have arrived at the scene, led by platoon commander Arman Sukiasyan and squad commander Garik Martirosyan. The police are working to establish the identity of the deceased.
