Murder in Ararat Province: 30-Year-Old Man Dies
On October 16, a murder occurred in Ararat Province. At around 00:45, the police station in Artashat received a call from the Artashat Medical Center, reporting that a citizen had been brought in with multiple severe injuries, including two stab wounds to the left side of the chest, two stab wounds to the left arm, and a lacerated head wound. Unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival.
The police and investigators have determined that the deceased is 30-year-old Gevorg Petrosyan, a resident of the village of Dalar in Ararat Province.
In relation to the incident, a criminal case has been opened in the Ararat regional investigative department under Article 104, part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
In a rapid response, the police from Ararat Province and investigators from the regional investigative department conducted necessary operational and investigative measures, leading to the apprehension of 20-year-old Seryozha Simonyan, a resident of Dalar village, on suspicion of committing the murder.
It was revealed that on the same day, around midnight, Simonyan had argued with Petrosyan on Saghatelyan Street in their village, during which he struck Petrosyan on the head with a baton and subsequently stabbed him in the chest with a knife.
