Erdogan: 'Ankara's Patience Has Run Out'

In the near future, the fight against terrorism in Syria will reach a qualitatively new level. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan while commenting on Ankara's stance regarding Syria.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized that Ankara's patience regarding the 'terrorist' schemes of the Kurdistan Workers' Party near Turkey's southern borders has run out.

'We will take all necessary steps against the terrorists,' he assured.

It should be noted that recently Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced that in light of Russia and the United States not fulfilling their obligations regarding Syria, Turkey will take all necessary measures to eliminate the threat of terrorism in Syrian territory.

He noted that the number of terrorist attacks by Kurds in northern Syria has recently increased.

The head of Turkish diplomacy reminded that before the anti-terrorist operations in Syria, militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party fired on Turkish territory, including with mortars.

'Recently, we have again begun to record such attacks. The distance from which the border areas of Turkey are being shelled is a maximum of 30 km. And this is despite the agreements we reached with the US and Russia after the start of Operations Euphrates Shield. Both countries have committed to move the terrorists 30 km away from the Turkish border into the depths of Syria. Moscow has also committed to cleanse the Tal Rifaat and Manbij areas from terrorists. Unfortunately, these promises have not been fulfilled,' he stated.

Cavusoglu emphasized that Russia and the US are also responsible for the terrorist attacks on Syrian civilians and Turkish military personnel. They have not kept their promises, the Turkish minister clarified.

Against the backdrop of the increase in terrorist attacks and the failure to fulfill obligations towards Syria, Turkey remains to resolve the issue independently, Cavusoglu said.
