Video: 30-Year-Old Woman Claims to be Widow of War Victim and Appropriates Large Sum of Money

Recently, information was received at the criminal investigation department of the Tumanyan police regarding a 30-year-old woman residing in Alaverdi who published misleading information through her profile on a social network, claiming that she was the widow of a victim from the 44-day war and requested assistance under the pretext of caring for children.

By exploiting the trust of several users, she had reportedly obtained approximately 600,000 drams. The users transferred money to the woman’s bank account.

Thanks to operational-investigative measures, officers from the Tumanyan division apprehended the woman on the evening of October 13 after confirming the information. Efforts are underway to identify the victims of the fraud. The circumstances of the case are being clarified through investigation.
