Territories Were Given to the Enemy, but Our Soldiers Were Not Removed from Those Areas: Aregnaz Manukyan

Today, during a working discussion titled "Preservation of Armenian Historical, Cultural, and Religious Heritage in the Areas of the Republic of Artsakh under Azerbaijani Control," convened by the Chair of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs, Taguhi Tovmasyan, National Assembly member Aregnaz Manukyan stated that the retention of Artsakh's cultural values in areas captured by Azerbaijan is the result of at least criminal inactivity, or perhaps intentionality.

"This approach has been present not only towards our cultural heritage but also towards our servicemen. During those days, our territories were being handed over to the enemy, yet our soldiers were not being brought out from those areas, or they were left in a state of encirclement. I believe that whatever could have been saved in this situation was mainly due to the efforts and personal initiatives of individuals. I think all of this can only be clarified after a change of power because the current government cannot blame itself for actions it has taken," emphasized Aregnaz Manukyan.
