Whose Funds Are Used for the Visits of 'Armenia' Faction MPs to the Regions?

In response to inquiries from various media outlets regarding the 'Armenia' faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and its MPs, the faction has stated that members have visited all regions of Armenia and administrative districts of Yerevan from August to September 2021. Meetings have been organized with hundreds of citizens in various communities (these visits continue), addressing their issues and proposals, which has led to the initiation of legislative proposals and the organization of extensive work in parliamentary activities.

These visits have been funded by the MPs of the faction. MPs who have been unlawfully detained in violation of constitutional requirements have not participated in these visits to date.

Regarding the allocated 250,000 AMD for parliamentary activities, it is important to note that each MP of the 'Armenia' faction received 170,000 AMD in their salary account for the month of September.

It is also noteworthy that, as previously announced, the 'Armenia' faction is contesting the law on increased expenses related to parliamentary activities, as well as the issue of compensation for MPs and other political officials, at the Constitutional Court (the application was submitted to the Court on 05.10.2021).
