Today, an Artsakh resident was shot dead by a sniper in a pomegranate orchard. Tatoyan provides details

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia has issued a statement addressing the incident that occurred today in Martakert, where a peaceful resident was killed by gunfire from Azerbaijani armed forces while performing agricultural work.

The statement reads: “The murder of a 55-year-old peaceful resident of Martakert today is a direct consequence of the ongoing state policy of hatred and enmity by the Azerbaijani authorities. Peaceful resident Aram Tepsnanyan was killed by a sniper's shot while working in a pomegranate orchard. This information has been confirmed by the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh. This criminal act by the Azerbaijani armed forces, the murder of a peaceful Armenian resident of Artsakh, is a blatant illegal violation of the right to life, carried out with clear intent.”

This tragic incident once again proves that ensuring the lives, security, and peaceful existence of the Armenian population, as well as their other vital rights, is impossible in the context of Azerbaijan’s deep-rooted policy of hatred and enmity, and as long as those responsible for such criminal acts are not punished, along with the Azerbaijani authorities who endorse anti-Armenian sentiment.
