The Red Cross Has Information Regarding a Female Prisoner of War in Baku: Simonyan
The immediate participants in the incident involving the killing of an Artsakh resident by an Azerbaijani sniper have been removed from their positions, and an investigation has been launched regarding the case. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, in a conversation with journalists, refraining from evaluative statements.
Regarding the timelines for the return of Armenian prisoners of war, the NA president noted that they should have already been returned, but Azerbaijan is effectively not fulfilling its obligations and is providing various fabricated justifications. 'Today, when we speak of opening roads, relations with Azerbaijan, and establishing peace, we mean that, primarily, our prisoners of war must return through those roads,' said Simonyan, adding that discussions had recently taken place regarding specific individuals during his visit to Moscow. 'I have personally asked for intervention, as the Red Cross has information regarding a female prisoner of war. Unfortunately, the Azerbaijani side does not confirm this information. Today, I also have a meeting with representatives of the Red Cross to discuss this issue,' Simonyan stated, assuring that the matter of prisoners of war is a priority for them.
