What Was the Real Reason Behind The Beatles' Breakup? McCartney Reveals All

The British band The Beatles was primarily driven to breakup by John Lennon, rather than Paul McCartney. This revelation comes from The Guardian, referencing an unreleased interview with McCartney for BBC Radio.

For a long time, McCartney has been accused of being responsible for the group's dissolution. He explained that their new manager had advised them not to announce the end of The Beatles until the very last moment. Consequently, the musicians had to pretend that everything was alright for several months. McCartney deemed this unfair and ultimately revealed the truth.

"I did not instigate the breakup of the group. No. One time John walked into the room and announced he was leaving The Beatles," the musician stated. According to McCartney, Lennon was deeply immersed in a new life with Yoko Ono and had decided to “get out of the team.”

At the same time, he is confident that if it hadn’t been for Lennon’s departure, The Beatles could have continued to perform concerts and release new hits.
