Merkel and Erdogan to Meet

The Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, will travel to Turkey on October 16. According to Ermenihaber, the spokesperson for the German government, Steffen Seibert, stated that Merkel will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

"Due to Turkey's geopolitical position, there are numerous international issues that connect us with each other. Turkey is our partner in NATO," he noted.

Turkish media emphasize that this will be Merkel's last visit to Turkey as the Chancellor of Germany, as her term is coming to an end.
