Lexus Driver Gave 10,000 Drams to Traffic Officer Along with Documents

On the night of October 11, traffic officers conducting service in the center of Yerevan noticed a Lexus vehicle on Arami Street, whose driver had violated traffic rules. This was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

"The officers attempted to draw up a report regarding the violation. During this time, the man handed the officer 10,000 drams along with his documents, suggesting that he not write the report. The officers, suspecting him of bribery, detained him and brought him to the Central Police Department. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated. We urge drivers to demonstrate only lawful behavior; all violations will be given appropriate legal assessment," the police statement said.
