What is the Sanitary Pass? 45,000 People Protest Against It
On October 9, more than 150 protests took place in various French cities against sanitary passes, with approximately 45,300 participants, according to France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry highlighted that the number of protesters has been decreasing every week, as reported by TASS.
Last week, around 48,000 people took to the streets, while on September 25, the number was 60,000. In Paris, multiple protests occurred simultaneously, with around 5,300 participants. No incidents of disorder or confrontations with police were reported in Paris.
Protests were also held in Strasbourg, Lyon, and Marseille. Experts noted that the number of participants in each of these cities has decreased by an average of 300 to 500.
It is worth mentioning that in France, the sanitary pass is issued if a citizen is fully vaccinated against coronavirus. Access to several public places is allowed with such passes until November 15, although it is noted that this deadline may be extended.
