Lava Carries Huge Chunks the Size of Three-Story Buildings in Palma Island

The northern side of the Cumbre Vieja volcano crater has collapsed in Palma Island. According to the Spanish Institute of Earth Sciences and Mining Studies, lava has started to flow from the collapse, carrying massive chunks the size of three-story buildings with it.
Currently, the lava has covered an area of 497 hectares, destroying over 1,186 buildings. More than six thousand people have been evacuated.
