Forest Fires Rage in Russia

In the regions of the Russian Federation, firefighters are conducting efforts to extinguish forest fires over an area of 1,288 hectares. Throughout the day, fires were extinguished in an area totaling 1,993 hectares with 35 separate incidents.

In the Khabarovsk region, seven fire outbreaks are also being extinguished on forest fund lands, where the total area affected by these fires is 647 hectares. Additionally, 16 fire outbreaks remain active in the Sverdlovsk region.

This period is regarded as the fire-danger season for 60 forest economies across the Russian Federation. A special fire safety regime has been established in 24 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
